Miller Camera Supports’ new fluid head range, Compass is a finalist in the 2010 Australian International Design Awards.

Presented by Standards Australia, the Australian International Design Awards is Australia’s premier design assessment program, recognising Australian and international design and innovation excellence. In the Final Round Assessment stage, shortlisted products were assessed by multidisciplinary panels of Australian and international experts in relevant design disciplines. Judges had the opportunity to physically test entries from a usability perspective, and rank the design merits of each product against a common set of criteria including innovation, visual and emotional appeal, functionality, quality of manufacture, human factors such as ergonomics, semantics and safety, and environmental sustainability.

The Compass Fluid Head range is a finalist in the Business & Technology section, which includes hydraulic stabilising mechanism, in-road flashing warning beacon, and other portable computing technology. It is the only entry representing the film and television production industry.

Miller’s Manufacturing Director, Mark Clementson commented "This is a great achievement for Miller Camera Support to reach the finals of the AIDA. It’s something we are all very proud of and gives us every encouragement for our future endeavours."

Compass fluid heads are Miller Camera Support’s latest product innovation, bringing to market a premium camera support option with professional performance at very competitive pricing. A no-compromise professional camera support choice; for
guerrilla-style news gathering, DSLR film-making, or budget conscious Government, Education, Corporate and Independent media organisations.

The stylish and operator friendly design incorporates features like a wide payload range with 4 selectable counterbalance settings. 5 positions of selectable pan and tilt fluid drag plus zero setting and illuminated bubble level in a low profile and lightweight fluid head.

The winners of the 2010 Australian International Design Awards, including the 2010 Australian International Design Award of the Year, will be announced on Friday, June 4 in Sydney. For more information visit www.designawards.com.au
