Miller still going strong

A pilot shoot recently took Eden Gaha back to his family's birthplace in Lebanon, where he was able to get a DV perspective on life after the many years of instability and what remained of the old. The pilot concept involved grandparents and their offspring returning the family's ancestral home to gauge the effect of the old and the new from both immigrant and traditional perspectives.

Compact Systems keeps crew mobile For Eden it was a chance to take his grandfather back to Lebanon for the first time in 50 years. Cinematographer David Kelly and sound recordist Nicola Gaha worked with Sony's PD100 and the Miller DS5 system to capitalise on the size and quality benefits of the DV format and of Miller's lightweight fluid head support system. If Eden's crew had needed assistance with their DS5 system (which they didn't and said performed with perfectly smooth action and faultless operation throughout the shoot) then they would have been well looked after by Miller Lebanon distributor, Jean Rouhana at Hi-Tec pro Equipment.
