24/7 Youth Film Festival 2017
Since 2002, with sleep in short supply, talented young people aged 12-24 across the Northern Beaches and North Shore have raced against the clock to create an imaginative and innovative short 7 minute film in a 24 hour period which must include special items, dialogue and locations that are only revealed at the beginning of the 24 hours.
Film making information sessions and workshops are held in preparation for the Competition which runs over an August weekend in 2017 with the usual high number of entries. The 10 finalist’s films are shown on the big screen for the finals awards night held 10th September 2017 and go in the running to win up to $5000 worth of prizes.
The Festival, now in its 16th year running, has proven to be a great success due to the continued support of Mosman and Northern Beaches Councils.
With the festival’s humble beginning in 2002, 10 – 15 films would be created by young people each year. However, in the past five years the festival has grown. Currently, 25 - 30 films are created each year for the 24/7 Film Festival Competition.
